CAMPING SIENA COLLEVERDE, Siena

The camping is set on a quiet, terraced hillside about 2 km outside central Siena. It offers sweeping views over the city and the Chianti vineyards. Public transport is excellent: bus numbers 3 and 8 stop 100 metres from the entrance and reach the historic centre in 10-20 minutes. Buses also connect to the train station (2 km away). For those who prefer to walk, the old town is roughly 30-40 minutes on foot (with some uphill sections). The surrounding area is green and peaceful, while the city's main attractions remain easily accessible. Reception sells bus tickets for €1.70 each.

The property offers both small bungalows and larger two-bedroom mobile homes. Small bungalows are very compact (roughly 12 m2), with a double bed (or two singles pushed together), a private bathroom with shower, and a small fridge. There is no kitchenette, kettle, or microwave - basic bedding and a small towel are provided. A two-bedroom mobile home sleeps up to 5 people (1 double, 1 twin, plus a sofa bed for a child) and includes a living room with a full kitchenette, a wooden veranda, and more storage. Some units are semi-detached (two share a trailer), so noise and vibration from neighbours are common. Air conditioning is available at an extra €6 per day. Many units are older and may have wear; cleanliness and comfort can vary. The atmosphere is basic but practical for short stays focused on exploring Siena.

Breakfast is a simple continental affair (hot drinks, croissants, jam, bread). The on-site restaurant, Ristorante Colleverde, is open for lunch and dinner, offering Italian dishes with vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. Meals are considered good value and popular - reserving a table is recommended. A bar by the pool and the main bar sell drinks, sandwiches, and snacks. A mini market provides basic groceries, fresh bread in the morning, and local wine. Packed lunches can be arranged at reception. For those in bungalows without a kitchen, the restaurant and bar are convenient alternatives.

The outdoor swimming pool (approximately 25 m long) is open from 1 June to 15 September and has sun loungers, parasols, and a bar. A swimming cap is mandatory. There is also a free open-air bath. For leisure, the property offers table tennis (free), darts (free), a children's playground, and organised happy hours (additional charge). The large, tree-shaded grounds provide a relaxing environment. Note that there is no spa, gym, or sauna, and evening entertainment is limited. The pool area is a highlight for families and for cooling off after a day in the city.

Wi-Fi is available in all areas free of charge. Parking is free and private, with accessible spaces available. Reception offers luggage storage (free), sells bus tickets to Siena (€1.70), and can arrange guided tours of local cities. Laundry is available with tokens bought at reception (€5 per wash/dry cycle).
