CLUB WYNDHAM INN ON LONG WHARF, Newport

The property sits directly on the waterfront overlooking the working fishing docks and Newport Harbor. Everything downtown is within a five-minute walk: Thames Street for bars, restaurants, and shopping, and the transportation center for buses. The Cliff Walk is 2 km away, reachable by bus 67 from a stop five minutes from the hotel. The neighborhood is quiet despite its centrality, and the surrounding area offers fresh seafood and weekly farmers' markets.

Every suite is an open-plan one-bedroom layout: guests enter directly into the bedroom before reaching the combined kitchen and living area. All units feature a living room with a pull-out sofa, a full-size refrigerator, a two-burner stovetop without an oven, a spa bath, and free Wi-Fi. The heating and air conditioning are controlled from the living room only, making the bedroom less comfortable in extreme temperatures. Road-facing rooms tend to be noisier, and slamming doors and loud plumbing have been reported as occasional issues. The building has an elevator for handicap access but no balconies.

Guests have full access to the Wyndham Long Wharf Resort across the street, which offers an indoor and an outdoor heated pool open daily from 8:00 to 22:00, hot tubs, saunas, a 24-hour gym, a game room with arcade games and a pool table, and a movie theater showing family and adult films. The hotel also hosts a social hour in its lobby with complimentary snacks, wine, and beverages. A rooftop deck with seating is available at the inn for watching the sunset over the harbor.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Free public parking is available at a nearby location without a reservation, but the lot may not hold enough spaces for all guests during peak times. Laundry is free, including detergent. A 24-hour front desk is located at the sister resort across the street. Guests can communicate with staff via text for questions, housekeeping, and check-out. Pets are not allowed, and the property is non-smoking throughout.
