COMFORT INN GAINESVILLE - UNIVERSITY AREA, Gainesville

The hotel sits near the interstate, making it a practical choice for road travelers and those visiting the university, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, or the Florida Museum of Natural History. Shands Hospital and the VA hospital are a short drive away. Several chain restaurants such as Arby's, McDonald's, and Cracker Barrel are within 2 km, and many other dining and shopping options are nearby. The location allows easy car access to campus and major attractions, but note there is no public shuttle service to the university or airport.

Accommodation options range from double and triple rooms to family rooms and suites. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, a tea and coffee maker, a seating area, a safe deposit box, and cable TV. Some units include a minibar, microwave, or refrigerator. Beds are noted for their comfort, and the rooms are generally spacious. However, soundproofing can be inconsistent; rooms facing the interstate may experience traffic noise. The property condition is older, and some units may show signs of wear such as musty odors. Requesting a quiet interior room is advisable for light sleepers. No rooms have private bathrooms, but all en-suite bathrooms are private to the room.

The breakfast buffet includes scrambled eggs, sausages, grits, bagels, toast, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, and juices. Breakfast hours are 6:30 to 9:00 AM. The dining area can be small and may require patience during peak times. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, but numerous dining options are within a 5-minute drive. Complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available 24/7, and popcorn and cookies are offered in the lobby during evenings.

The property provides free Wi-Fi in all areas, free on-site parking without reservation, and a 24-hour front desk with express check-in/out. Business facilities include a business centre and meeting/banquet rooms (fee applies). Laundry and dry cleaning are available at an additional cost. Safety features include CCTV, key card access, smoke alarms, and a safety deposit box (fee). The hotel is equipped with a lift and facilities for disabled guests. Pets are allowed in designated rooms with a nightly fee.
