DAM HOTEL, Amsterdam

The hotel is located on the main tourist thoroughfare, the Damrak, just a 2-5 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. This gives direct train, tram, and metro connections across the city and to Schiphol Airport. Key landmarks within walking distance include the Dam Square (6 minutes), the Kalverstraat shopping area (10 minutes), the Red Light District, and the Anne Frank House (15 minutes). The area is highly central, with numerous restaurants, shops, and nightlife venues immediately surrounding the hotel. Due to the central location, street noise can be audible, especially in rooms facing the road, and the area can be crowded with tourists at all hours.

The hotel offers a range of room types including double, twin, family, and quadruple configurations. Every room has a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries, as well as a flat-screen TV, safe, parquet floors, and heating. Rooms are typically small and basic, best suited for sleeping rather than spending extended time in. Many rooms have a window, and some offer views of the Damrak or canal. Note that the hotel has no lift, and stairs are steep and narrow, which can be challenging with heavy luggage or for those with mobility issues. Room size varies, with some double rooms being around 18 m², while family rooms and some other categories are more compact. A fan is provided for cooling, as there is no air conditioning. Noise insulation between rooms is limited, and street-facing rooms can be subject to external noise.

This hotel does not offer breakfast or operate its own restaurant. A restaurant located on the ground floor of the building provides a 10% discount on the total bill for hotel residents, offering a convenient and value-added dining option. The immediate surroundings are densely packed with a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes, including options such as Burger Bar, Pasta Bar, pancakes and waffles, and Italian cuisine, all within a 0.5 km radius. Guests preferring a fuller meal or a different cuisine will find plentiful choices within a few minutes' walk.

The hotel provides a 24-hour front desk with express check-in/check-out and private check-in/check-out. Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out, with a secure, key-access luggage room. Wi-Fi is free in all rooms. Daily housekeeping is provided, and fresh towels are supplied for stays longer than one night. A safety deposit box is available in each room, and 24-hour security with CCTV and key card access is in place. The hotel does not have a lift, which means all rooms are accessible only by steep stairs. There is no on-site parking; public parking is available nearby. Airport shuttle service is not offered. The hotel accepts Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Bankcard, and UnionPay credit cards.
