HOTEL DESIREE, Florence

Hotel Desiree is situated in a graceful early-1900s building in Florence's historic centre. The central station is just 100 metres away, offering direct rail links to Pisa, Venice, and the airport via tram. All major sights - including the Duomo (900 metres), Piazza della Signoria, and the Uffizi - are within a 15-minute walk. The Fortezza da Basso exhibition centre is 300 metres away, and the Palazzo dei Congressi business centre is a 1-minute walk. The surrounding streets have many restaurants and shops. The hotel lies outside the ZTL zone, so driving is permitted, but parking is limited to the paid nearby garage.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and offers a varied continental buffet in a sunny dining room with rooftop views. Options include fresh pastries, breads, cereals, yoghurts, fruits, eggs, ham, cheese, and coffee/tea/juice. The bar serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day. There is no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner, but numerous restaurants and cafés are within a 2-5 minute walk, including Trattoria Za Za, Trattoria Nerone, and others.
