EARLS COURT HOTEL, London

The hotel sits on a peaceful residential street in a safe neighbourhood, yet the Tube entrance is virtually at the doorstep. Earl's Court station offers the District and Piccadilly lines, placing you 12 minutes from Westminster and Piccadilly Circus, and a short ride from Heathrow on the Piccadilly line. Stamford Bridge (Chelsea FC) is a 5-minute taxi ride. The immediate area is packed with supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, pubs and pharmacies, making self-catering and dining out easy. For trips to Gatwick, the Tube connection is straightforward. The location is the property's strongest asset for anyone wanting to explore central London.

Rooms are functional but very small - some described as barely enough to move around, with beds filling most of the floor space. Heating is generally available but can be unpredictable in some rooms. Many rooms are located on the basement level, where windows are small or absent, and sound insulation from street noise and other rooms is minimal. Some rooms feature a private bathroom; others use shared bathroom facilities. Bathrooms are often very compact, with the sink sometimes positioned on top of the toilet cistern. Some rooms are in a separate Annex Building a 3-minute walk from the main hotel, offering the same services. This accommodation is suited for travellers who plan to spend most of their time out and need only a place to sleep.

The property offers a 24-hour front desk, which can assist with luggage storage for £10 per day - useful for early arrivals or late departures. A drinks vending machine is available. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas and outside, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and a safety deposit box. Fax/photocopying and concierge service are also available. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all areas, though its reliability can vary in some rooms. There is no elevator, but ground-floor rooms can be requested. No on-site parking is available, but metered street parking is possible nearby. The staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, with particular praise for owner George and team members Romany and Meena.
