Hotel Details

Location

Ideally situated near Gare du Nord and Poissonnière metro, with easy access to central Paris attractions and public transport.
Hotel Ernest is located less than 1 km from Gare du Nord (8-minute walk) and a 1-minute walk from Poissonnière metro station (line 7), providing direct connections across Paris including to the Louvre (2 km) and Pompidou Centre (2 km). Paris Orly Airport is 18 km away via RER and metro. The street is lined with numerous restaurants and shops, with a supermarket and bakery nearby. Walking distance to Montmartre and Sacre-Coeur is about 20 minutes. For drivers, the nearest public parking is Indigo Franz Liszt; street parking is limited.

Accommodation

Rooms are compact but well-equipped, with air conditioning, soundproof walls, and modern private bathrooms with walk-in showers.
Room types include single rooms, double rooms, suites, and doubles with balcony. All feature free toiletries, slippers, a coffee machine, electric kettle, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, wardrobe, and desk. Suites offer additional seating area and city views; some rooms have a balcony. Single rooms are very small with limited storage (a few hangers, no drawers). Road-facing rooms can be noisy from traffic and nearby shops; rooms at the back are quieter. Air conditioning works well, though some units may require manual adjustment. Daily housekeeping is provided, and rooms are cleaned with fresh towels daily.

Dining

A continental buffet breakfast is available for 15 EUR, served in a cosy area off the reception.
Breakfast includes fresh juice, pastries, pancakes, cheese, fruits, cereal, and hot drinks. The breakfast room is small and can become crowded during peak hours, possibly requiring a short wait. Special diet menus can be requested in advance. Free coffee is available in the common area throughout the day, and each room has tea and coffee making facilities. For other meals, the hotel has a coffee shop on site, and the surrounding street offers many restaurants within a short walk. Packed lunches can be arranged on request.

Amenities

Free WiFi in public areas, a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/out, and free luggage storage are provided.
Additional services include concierge assistance, daily housekeeping, and laundry/dry cleaning for a fee. Meeting and banquet facilities are available at an extra charge. Safety features include CCTV, smoke alarms, and a safety deposit box. Key card access is used. There is no parking on site; the nearest public parking is Indigo Franz Liszt. Staff can assist with carrying luggage up the stairs. Bicycle storage is available on request. Pets are not accepted. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 12:00.

Top Strategic Tips

  • 01

Choose a room on a lower floor if stairs are a concern; the hotel has no elevator and suites are on the 6th floor.

  • 02

Use Poissonnière metro station (line 7) just 1 minute away for quick city travel, or walk 8 minutes to Gare du Nord for Eurostar and regional trains.

  • 03

Request a room away from the street if you are sensitive to noise, as road-facing rooms can be affected by traffic and local activity.

  • 04

Take advantage of free luggage storage for early arrival or late departure; staff can assist with carrying bags up the stairs.
