FONTANELLA BY BCN URBAN ROOMS, Barcelona

Plaça de Catalunya, the city's main transport hub, is a 1-minute walk away. Aerobus airport shuttles, metro lines, and regional trains all converge here, making arrival and departure straightforward. The Gothic Quarter, Palau de la Música Catalana (4-minute walk), Barcelona Cathedral (600 m), Casa Batlló, Picasso Museum, and Boqueria Market are all within 1 km. Barceloneta Beach is 2 km away - a 30-minute walk or a short metro ride. The building is on a busy main road, so rooms facing the street can be lively; inner courtyard rooms are quieter. The surrounding area is dense with cafés, supermarkets (one across the street open late), and restaurants - several breakfast spots are within 20 metres.

Fontanella by BCN Urban Rooms offers private rooms (twin/double, triple, and quadruple) in a shared-floor apartment setup. All rooms include a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, and toiletries. Rooms are equipped with soundproof walls, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, minibar, electric kettle, iron and ironing board, and a trouser press. Balconies overlook either the street or an inner courtyard - the courtyard views are noticeably quieter. Bed sizes vary: twin/double rooms have one bed, triple rooms offer two twin beds plus a single in a nook, and quadruple rooms have two twin beds that can be separated. The bathrooms are generally large and modern, and daily housekeeping is standard. Some rooms feel compact, especially quadruple configurations, but the beds are consistently described as comfortable. The building is older, and the entrance and stairway may feel dated, but the rooms themselves are modern, clean, and functional. A safe is available in the room free of charge.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and common areas. Reception is staffed from check-in to 21:00, with 24-hour assistance available by phone for late arrivals. Express self-check-in and check-out via door codes is smooth and well-documented. Luggage storage after check-out is available at no extra charge - bags can be left in the lobby area. Daily housekeeping includes towel and sheet changes, and the rooms are kept clean. Additional services available for a fee include bike/car hire (local), dry cleaning, ironing service, and fax/photocopying. The building has a lift, though it is small and occasionally out of order. A safe is provided in each room free of charge. Security is managed via key card access, CCTV in common areas, and smoke alarms.
