The hotel sits in the heart of downtown San Francisco, within a two-minute walk of the Powell BART station and the Powell-Hyde cable car turnaround. Union Square is two blocks away, and the Westfield San Francisco shopping centre is two minutes on foot. The Contemporary Jewish Museum, San Francisco's Children's Museum, Yerba Buena Gardens and SF MoMA are all within a 10-minute walk. Powell Station gives direct BART access to SFO, making transfers easy without a car. The immediate area is busy with shops, restaurants and transport, though the nearby Tenderloin district means some street homelessness is present. A 10-minute drive reaches AT&T Park, and the Moscone Convention Center is a 10-minute walk.

All guest rooms have air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen cable TV, mini-fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, ironing equipment and an in-room safe. Private bathrooms are fitted with a bath or shower, and complimentary toiletries are provided. Rooms are compact; the smallest are suited for short stays or solo travel. Standard queen rooms have windows. Some suites include a day bed and can sleep up to three. Room decor mixes wood accents with warm colours, but furnishings can feel dated. Road-facing rooms can be noisy - rear-facing rooms may be quieter but often lack natural light. Windows are sealed shut in many rooms. The air-conditioning units and the mini-fridge in some rooms can be loud at night.

Mix Restaurant offers Hawaiian-Hispanic fusion cuisine with small-plate options. For drinks and lighter bites, the Lobby Bar has a bar bites menu and regular happy hours.
