The property also provides free on-site parking, an advantage for those coming by car, although the parking lot can become crowded during peak times. For those without a car, a city bus stop is nearby and taxis are available.

Master bathrooms in suites include a spa bath and walk-in shower. While some reviews note that some furniture and mattresses show wear, interior renovation is underway. Suites on higher floors generally offer quieter stays, and units facing the marina or Gulf provide the best outlook.

The Galleon's own dining includes the Sunset Tiki Bar, a popular spot for poolside cocktails and light fare with live entertainment and sunset views. The Pirates' Cove Cafe serves American breakfast and brunch. A wine/champagne service is also available. For other meal options, the surrounding area offers dozens of restaurants: Commodore Waterfront Restaurant, Alonzo's Oyster Bar, and Shor American Seafood Grill are all within a 3-minute walk. Two Friends Patio Restaurant and the Boat House are just a block away, providing plenty of choice for lunch and dinner.

The resort features a large heated outdoor pool (open all year) with sun loungers and pool towels. A hot tub and sauna are available for relaxation. The private beach area is directly on the Gulf of Mexico and has sun loungers. The fitness centre is free to use.
