The hostel sits directly on Hermannplatz, a busy junction with the U7 and U8 metro lines. The U7 provides a direct 45-minute ride to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (with an X7 bus connection). The city centre, including Brandenburg Gate, is about 20 minutes by metro. The area is multicultural and vibrant, packed with Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurants, bars, and shops including a large Karstadt department store 0.5 km away. The Estrel Convention Centre is 3 km away. The street is very lively day and night, with frequent police and ambulance sirens; rooms on the street side are significantly noisier, while rooms at the back overlook a quieter garden or a school playground. Walking around at night feels sketchy to some, but the immediate vicinity of the metro and 24-hour activity means it never feels deserted.

The property offers single, twin, double, and quadruple private rooms, plus 4-bed and 8-bed mixed-gender dormitories. All rooms have air conditioning, heating, carpeted floors, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. Dorm beds come with a personal locker (bring your own padlock), and some have a locker integrated into the bunk bed with a charging point. The rooms are described as spacious and simple, with comfortable beds and a desk. Strong street noise is a persistent issue, especially on lower floors facing Hermannplatz, so a quiet room away from the road is strongly recommended. Some rooms also suffer from noise from the school playground in the morning. The building is dated, with older bathrooms where shower curtains often leak, and a musty smell from the carpet in some cases. Triple-checking the room lock is advisable given past security concerns on floor access.

The daily highlight is the full, rich buffet breakfast (€11 per person, served 6:30-10:30 weekdays, 7:30-11:30 weekends) in the glass-enclosed 6th-floor conservatory with panoramic city views. The breakfast includes a wide selection of breads and rolls, muesli and cornflakes, cold meats and cheese, fruit, desserts and pastries, plus hot and cold drinks including vegetarian and vegan options. The lobby bar serves relaxing drinks, wine and champagne, plus a big-screen TV and a summer terrace for smokers. There is no restaurant on site for lunch or dinner, but a kebab shop is directly opposite, and dozens of restaurants are within a 5-minute walk for any cuisine preference.

The property does not have a spa, swimming pool, or fitness centre. Leisure facilities are limited to the shared lounge/TV area, the lobby bar with a terrace, and a small garden with outdoor furniture. The rooftop conservatory doubles as the breakfast room and offers a pleasant city view. The surrounding Neukölln area has a canal and parks within walking distance for jogging or relaxing.

The 24-hour front desk can assist with check-in any time after 15:00 and offers free luggage storage both before check-in and after check-out until the end of the day. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, though connectivity can be weak on the 6th floor. In-room lockers are provided (bring your own padlock or buy one at reception for €3.90). Towels are not included in dorms (rental €3.50). Laundry and fax/photocopying are available for an additional charge. The hotel has a lift, key card access, 24-hour security, CCTV, smoke alarms, and a safety deposit box.
