HOTEL WIEN-SCHOENBRUNN, Vienna

The hotel is directly adjacent to the U4 metro line (station: Meidling Hauptstraße), providing a 10-minute ride to Karlsplatz in the city centre. It is a 14-minute walk from Schönbrunn Palace and 2 km from Schönbrunner Gardens. The surrounding area includes a shopping mall with a supermarket, several restaurants, and a minimarket on site. Vienna International Airport is 17 km away; public transport connections via metro and CAT train are straightforward. Paid on-site underground parking is available at 25 EUR per night, with a cheaper public garage opposite the hotel. The building also houses an ice-skating rink nearby. While the location is excellent for public transport, the walk to the historic centre is quite far, making metro use essential for city sightseeing.

Rooms are available as double/twin rooms (with or without a queen bed) and quadruple family rooms with two bunk beds (each bed 140x160 cm). All rooms include air conditioning, heating, a private bathroom with a separate toilet and shower, a hairdryer, hypoallergenic bedding, a work desk, and a flat-screen TV. Quadruple rooms have bunk beds with individual lights and plugs. The rooms are new and clean but very basic: there is no wardrobe (only four hangers and a small shelf), no fridge, no kettle, no safe, and no telephone. The air conditioning system is limited to a +/- 3°C adjustment and may not provide strong cooling in summer. Rooms on higher floors offer good city views and are generally quiet due to soundproofing, though the corridor and door noise can be audible. The overall feel is efficient and minimal, suitable for short stays where the room is used mainly for sleeping.

The hotel does not feature a pool, spa, gym, sauna, or jacuzzi. For leisure, the nearby Schönbrunner Gardens (2 km) and the Schönbrunn Palace grounds offer extensive walking and sightseeing options. An ice-skating rink is located in the surrounding area. The attached shopping mall provides additional entertainment and retail options. The hotel's own facilities focus on dining and accommodation, with no on-site leisure amenities.

The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and provides an invoice. WiFi is free in all areas, with good performance in the restaurant though sometimes weaker in rooms. Parking is available on site in an underground garage for 25 EUR per night; no reservation is needed, and spaces are generally plentiful. A cheaper public garage is opposite the hotel. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. Pets are allowed at a fee of 15 EUR per night, with pet amenities (bed, bowls) provided in the room. An iron is available with a 20 EUR deposit. The elevator system is innovative but can be slow during peak times. The hotel has key card access, security alarms, and smoke alarms. The check-in process is digital and may take time, and a 25 EUR deposit is required, preferably by credit card. There is no laundry service, but a laundromat is within walking distance of the hotel.
