HILTON GARDEN INN WASHINGTON DC DOWNTOWN, Washington

The hotel sits at 14th and K Streets, placing the National Mall, the Lincoln Memorial, US Capitol, Smithsonian Museum, and Walter E. Washington Convention Center within 2 km or a 15-minute walk. The McPherson Square Metro station (Blue, Orange, Silver lines) is literally across the street, making airport transfers (DCA, 17 minutes) and regional travel to Maryland, Virginia, and the Pentagon straightforward. A bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. Drivers will find easy highway access but should plan for valet parking only, as no self-parking is available. The immediate area is walkable and feels safe, with a CVS pharmacy one block away and many dining options within a 5-10 minute walk. The hotel's central location means rooms on lower floors facing 14th Street may experience street noise, and some rooms overlook an interior courtyard with air-conditioning units that can be noisy.

The Third Rail Restaurant offers a full breakfast buffet ($23 per person) with an omelette station, plus an American menu for lunch and dinner. Drinks are available at the bar, and cocktail hour runs daily. A 24-hour Pavilion Pantry sells microwavable meals, snacks, and drinks, and a coffee house on site provides additional options. The restaurant is generally well-regarded, though breakfast can be a better value when booked as part of a rate package. For those looking for more variety, several casual and upscale restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk, including Joe's Seafood, Cafe Mozart, and Pret a Manger, all 0.5 km away. The restaurant also offers kids' meals and can accommodate special diet menus on request.
