HOLIDAY INN NATIONAL AIRPORT/CRYSTAL CITY BY IHG, Arlington

The hotel sits in Crystal City, a 5-minute drive from DCA and about 10 minutes by car to the National Mall, Pentagon City Mall, and key DC landmarks. The metro station is a 10-15 minute walk (3 blocks), providing easy access to downtown. Numerous restaurants are within a short walk, including Kohinoor Dhaba (0.5 km), Fresh Kitchen (0.5 km), and a McDonald's next door. The area is safe and walkable, with shops and services nearby. A 10-minute drive reaches the Pentagon, and the hotel's free shuttle simplifies airport transfers.

Each room features a flat-screen TV, work desk, coffee maker, hairdryer, ironing facilities, air conditioning, and heating. Mini fridges are standard; a microwave is available in the gift shop on request. The rooms have private bathrooms with Dove toiletries, but some show wear-older carpets, worn furniture, and occasional maintenance issues such as slow-draining tubs or noisy AC units. Comfortable beds and pillows are consistently noted. Noise can be an issue: rooms near the fitness centre or elevators may hear gym equipment or door slams. No rooms have balconies. Connecting rooms and cribs are available upon request. The overall feel is functional and clean, best for a short stay or airport layover.

Fresh Kitchen serves a continental buffet breakfast (American style) from early morning; the price is $18 per adult, and children 11 and under eat free. O'Malley's Pub offers dinner and cocktails from 16:00 to 23:00 daily, with a menu of American staples in a family-friendly, traditional pub atmosphere. The hotel does not include breakfast in the room rate. For other meals, a McDonald's is adjacent, and multiple restaurants (Italian deli, coffee shops, Indian cuisine) are within a 5-minute walk. The on-site bar is a convenient option for evening relaxation.

The fitness centre is open around the clock and includes cardio equipment and free weights. It is free for all guests. There is no swimming pool, spa, or sauna. The fitness room is located near some guest rooms, so light sleepers may want to request a room away from that area to avoid noise from equipment use late at night. For additional leisure, the surrounding area offers parks and walking paths, and the hotel is a short walk from shops and restaurants in Crystal City.
