The hotel is within a short walk of the Kennedy Center, National Mall, and several museums. The Foggy Bottom metro station is nearby, providing direct access to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (5 km away) and other parts of the city. A variety of restaurants, cafés, and shops are within a few blocks. The area is very walkable, and parking is available at a partnered garage across the street (3-minute walk). For trips to Dulles International Airport, a taxi, rideshare, or metro connection is needed.

Room size ranges from 125 to 23 m², with the smallest rooms being exceptionally compact - they are best suited for short stays and travelers with minimal luggage. Bunk-bed rooms are designed for single travelers or friends sharing, while queen and king rooms offer more bed space but still limited floor area. Storage includes under-bed space for luggage, but a wardrobe or closet is not standard. All rooms have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, free toiletries, hairdryer, and safe. Due to the micro layout, there is no desk or mini-fridge in standard rooms (a mini-fridge can be requested upon availability).

The hotel has three dining outlets: &Pizza serves pizza and is open for lunch and dinner, including vegetarian and vegan options; Hive Bar offers breakfast (continental selections) and cocktail hour; and Hive Rooftop provides a bar with city views, open for cocktail hour. Breakfast is not included in the room rate but can be purchased for $15. The pizza from &Pizza is popular, and gluten-free pizza is available. Hive Bar operates from 6 AM to 10 PM (extended on Fridays and Saturdays). The rooftop bar is a pleasant spot for evening drinks. Nearby dining options include Sammy's Coffee Kiosk, Alfie's, Carvings, Beefsteak, and sweetgreen, all within a 5-minute walk.

Hotel Hive does not have an on-site gym, pool, or spa. Instead, it offers free access to Balance Gym, located a 15-minute walk away, which features an expansive workout space, premium fitness equipment, group classes (including HYROX), and a pool. Simply present your room key and complete a waiver upon arrival. Additionally, the hotel partners with Georgetown Yoga for complimentary yoga classes (sign-up required). There is no swimming pool on the property.
