HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS MANHATTAN MIDTOWN WEST BY IHG, New York

The hotel sits at 48th Street and 11th Avenue, a walkable base for Midtown attractions. Times Square and Broadway theatres are a 10-15 minute walk east. The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is 1 km south, and Columbus Circle and Central Park are 2 km north. The nearest subway stations (E and C trains) are on 50th Street and 8th Avenue, about 10 minutes on foot. Pier 88 at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal is only 5 minutes away on foot, making this a practical choice for pre- or post-cruise stays. The neighbourhood offers multiple dining options within a few blocks, including The Landmark Tavern, Sullivan Street Bakery, and several casual eateries. While the immediate area is busy, the hotel sits on a relatively quiet side street, and public transport connections to JFK (about one hour by transit) and Newark are straightforward via subway or taxi.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and runs from 6:30 to 9:30 on weekdays and 7:00 to 10:00 on weekends. The buffet includes scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, bagels, toast, oatmeal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, and juice. Hot items are consistently replenished during service hours. The breakfast area is small relative to hotel capacity, so crowding is common between 7:30 and 9:00 AM. To avoid queues, arriving near opening time or taking a to-go option is recommended. The coffee and tea station in the lobby is available around the clock. Several restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including The Landmark Tavern (American pub fare), Jolly Goat Coffee Bar, and Sullivan Street Bakery - useful for alternative meal options.

The fitness centre is open 24 hours and contains a few treadmills and basic exercise machines - sufficient for a maintenance workout but not a full gym. There are no swimming pools, spas, or saunas. For outdoor recreation, Hudson River Park is a 10-minute walk west, offering running paths, bike rentals, and green spaces. Central Park is 2 km north, reachable on foot in about 20 minutes. The hotel's location in Hell's Kitchen provides easy access to walking tours and sightseeing.
