HYATT PLACE FLUSHING/LGA AIRPORT, New York

The hotel sits at the center of downtown Flushing, a vibrant neighborhood known for its exceptional Asian food scene. Hundreds of restaurants, bakeries, and street food vendors are within a 5-minute walk, including Guan Fu Sichuan, PappaRich, and Spot Dessert Bar. The Flushing-Main Street subway station (7 train) is a 5-minute walk, providing a 30-minute ride to Times Square and Grand Central. Citi Field and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center are within a 15-minute walk, making this an ideal base for Mets games or the US Open. LaGuardia Airport is a 5-minute drive, and the shuttle runs hourly. JFK is about 25 minutes by car. The neighborhood is safe and busy, with three malls (including Tangram Mall directly across the street) and a Target within a 10-minute walk. Parking is through a third-party garage, and the entrance is easy to miss; set your GPS to the LAZ Parking garage at 133-59 Roosevelt Avenue.

The complimentary breakfast buffet is a standout feature, offering a wide variety that includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, French toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, and an oatmeal bar, alongside Asian options like congee, miso soup, and fried rice. The breakfast area is well-stocked and clean, with friendly staff. Coffee, tea, and juice are included. For other meals, the on-site Leaf Bar on the 9th floor rooftop serves cocktails, appetizers, and entrees (e.g., three-cup chicken with jasmine rice, cheeseburger spring rolls) with views of the Manhattan skyline. However, the rooftop bar is operated by a third party and may not accept room charges. The lobby has a bar and snack bar with limited hours. The neighborhood offers hundreds of excellent Chinese, Malaysian, Korean, and other Asian restaurants within a 3-minute walk, making outside dining an easy and popular option.

The fitness center is free for guests and contains a treadmill, a stationary bike, a cable machine, a bench, and a Peloton bike (though internet connectivity may not work). Towels and a water dispenser are provided. The space is small and lacks music or ambient noise, which some find awkward. There is no pool, sauna, or spa on site. For leisure, the rooftop bar offers a place to relax with city views, and the surrounding neighborhood provides abundant dining, shopping, and entertainment within walking distance.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, though connectivity can be weaker on upper floors. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out, and the staff can store luggage before check-in or after check-out. An ATM is on site. Business facilities include a business center, meeting/banquet rooms, and fax/photocopying (for an additional charge). The free airport shuttle runs to LaGuardia every hour starting at 4:30 AM; reservations are not needed for pickups from the hotel, but arrivals at LGA must call (718) 888-1234 after baggage claim, and availability is first come, first served. The shuttle only goes to LGA; it does not serve JFK or Newark. Daily housekeeping is provided, but requests for extra services should be made at the front desk. Cots are available on request. Parking is through a third-party garage with valet service, costing $28-$42 per night; electric vehicle charging stations are available.
