HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS & SUITES NASHVILLE WEST END - UNIV AREA BY IHG, Nashville

The hotel is situated on West End Avenue, placing you within walking distance of Vanderbilt University and Centennial Park, home to the Parthenon. Downtown Nashville and the Broadway entertainment district are about 3 km away - easily reached by the hotel's free shuttle (Thursday-Saturday) or a short drive/ride-share. Several restaurants, including Hattie B's Hot Chicken and The Corner Bar at Elliston Place, are within a 0.5km walk. Note that a nightclub across the street can produce noise until late, and the area near the hotel is not well lit at night, so walking alone may feel less safe after dark. Parking is mandatory valet only, so guests without cars will find the location convenient for Vanderbilt and medical centre visits.

The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety - hot items like scrambled eggs and sausages, plus cold cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, and make-your-own pancakes. The coffee bar in the lobby grinds fresh beans for each cup and is available around the clock. There is no full-service restaurant on site, but the hotel has a bar with beer on tap and a snack bar offering packaged items and drinks. For more substantial meals, several restaurants are within a short walk, including Samurai Sushi, Cafe Coco, and Hattie B's Hot Chicken. The breakfast area can become very busy during peak hours, and replenishment may lag when crowded. The complimentary breakfast offers good value and is a practical option for a quick start before a day of sightseeing or business.

The rooftop pool is a standout feature, offering a view of the Nashville skyline and sun loungers for relaxation. It is open year-round, though the pool area may receive limited direct sun during parts of the day, making it feel cooler. The fitness centre is well-equipped with cardio and strength machines, and is accessible at no extra cost. There is no spa or sauna. For guests travelling with children, the pool is a welcome amenity, but note that it is not heated. The sun terrace adjacent to the pool provides additional space for lounging. These facilities are ideal for unwinding after a day in the city, though the pool's rooftop location means it can be breezy and less private.

The hotel provides a range of practical services: a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/out, and free luggage storage. A business centre with free printing and meeting/banquet facilities (at an additional charge) caters to work travellers. Laundry service is available for a fee. For safety, there are key card access, CCTV, and a safe deposit box. The property is wheelchair accessible with auditory and braille aids. Electric vehicle charging is available. A minimarket on site and vending machines offer snacks and drinks. Daily housekeeping is free, and grocery deliveries can be arranged. Pets are allowed with possible additional charges. The hotel's most significant service drawback is the mandatory valet parking, which carries high fees and can involve long wait times - a factor to consider when planning arrival and departure times.
