HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS - SPRINGFIELD DOWNTOWN BY IHG, Springfield

Situated in the heart of downtown Springfield, this hotel is a block from MGM Casino and directly across from the Mass Mutual Center, making it ideal for concert-goers and event attendees. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is a 15-minute walk away, and the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum is a short stroll. Union Station is 2 km away, with Bradley International Airport 23 km from the property. While the immediate area is lively with attractions, it can feel less safe for walking at night; using the car is recommended for exploring beyond the immediate vicinity. A free outdoor parking lot is available but can fill up quickly, with a larger overflow lot a short walk away.

The hotel offers 98 rooms, including 28 suites, all non-smoking and recently renovated. Rooms are noted for being very spacious and include air conditioning, a work desk, a flat-screen TV with premium channels, a tea and coffee maker, a microwave, and a mini-refrigerator. Beds are triple-sheeted with a choice of pillows, and many guests find them exceptionally comfortable. Suites add a separate living area with a sofa bed, ideal for families. Bathrooms feature a separate vanity area and a hairdryer. While rooms are well-maintained, some older furnishings and low water pressure have been occasionally noted. Rooms are well soundproofed from hallway noise, but street-facing rooms on lower floors can pick up some outside noise.

A complimentary hot breakfast buffet is served each morning, featuring full English/Irish options with eggs, sausage, fresh pastries, pancakes, fruits, juice, and hot cinnamon rolls. Due to operational adjustments, a breakfast-to-go bag is also available for early departures, providing a convenient alternative. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar, but delivery from local restaurants is available. Many dining options are within walking distance, including Red Rose for pizza, Nadim's Downtown Mediterranean Grill, and The Chandler Steakhouse, each just a few blocks away.

The hotel features a free fitness center equipped with two treadmills, a cross-trainer, elliptical machines, free weights, an adjustable bench, and a stretching mat. The heated indoor pool is currently closed. For outdoor recreation, a public golf course with an 18-hole par-72 course is located off-site. The hotel is also close to attractions like Six Flags New England, offering family leisure options.

Free outdoor self-parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis; a larger off-site lot is a short walk. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is included throughout. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out and luggage storage. A business center with printing, copying, and shipping services is available. The hotel provides daily housekeeping, laundry facilities, and dry cleaning service. Accessibility features include ADA-compliant elevators, wheelchair-accessible rooms, and accessible parking.
