HOMEWOOD SUITES BY HILTON SAN DIEGO-DEL MAR, San Diego

The hotel sits in a business and industry area, 1 km from the I-5 freeway, offering easy car access to SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, LEGOLAND and the beaches. UCSD is just a short drive away, and corporate offices including Cisco Systems and Dow Chemical are nearby. The area is quiet and feels safe, with plenty of dining options within a 10-minute drive and La Jolla about 10 minutes away. A trail near the hotel is available for walkers. Freeway noise is not an issue in the rooms.

All suites feature a seating area, premium cable TV, a work desk, ironing facilities, and full kitchens with granite countertops, a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, twin-burner stove, utensils, pots and pans. Room types include queen studios (one queen bed plus a full-size pull-out sofa), one-bedroom king suites (pool-view options available), two-bedroom suites with two bathrooms (king bed plus two queen beds), and accessible studios with an accessible bathtub. Air conditioning and heating are available. The property shows signs of age and some furnishings feel dated, but rooms are generally clean and functional. Road-facing rooms and interior courtyard-facing rooms can experience noise; exterior-side rooms are quieter. Balconies are not available. A TV room and minimarket on site add convenience.

Breakfast is included and offers a generous buffet with hot items, fresh fruit, eggs, potatoes, waffles, bagels, muffins, and juices. Gluten-free and dairy-free options are limited. The Wednesday evening reception (5:30 PM - 7:00 PM) includes soup, salad, cookies and drinks - a popular perk. A 24-hour convenience store and a snack bar are also available. For full meals, a restaurant operates at the adjacent Hilton Garden Inn, and the hotel itself has NY Garden Deli (open 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM daily, serving American cuisine with vegetarian and dairy-free options). The surrounding area offers many dining options within a short drive.

The outdoor swimming pool is heated to about 28 °C and open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. A hot tub is located next to the pool on the lobby level. The on-site fitness centre is modern and free to use. No spa is available. Nearby leisure activities include golf (within 3 km), hiking, cycling, and for a fee, off-site activities such as bowling, snorkelling and windsurfing. The property provides outdoor furniture and BBQ facilities.

Complimentary wired and wireless internet is available throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, and safety deposit boxes. Self-serve laundry facilities are on-site, and dry cleaning is available. The business centre provides fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities for an additional charge. Wheelchair access, lifts, family rooms, and designated smoking areas are provided. A 24-hour front desk ensures assistance at all times. No airport shuttle service operates.
