HOWARD JOHNSON BY WYNDHAM SAN DIEGO HOTEL CIRCLE, San Diego

The hotel is situated on Hotel Circle in Mission Valley, placing guests within a 10-15 minute drive of SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and San Diego International Airport. The San Diego Convention Center and downtown San Diego are within 5 km. Ocean Beach is just a 10-minute drive away. The immediate surroundings include a McDonald's and a gas station in the same parking lot, plus numerous fast-food and casual dining options such as Crust Kitchen, Islands, and Valley Kitchen Restaurant. The location provides easy access to Freeway 8, though rooms nearest to the freeway may experience consistent traffic noise until late at night. Abundant retail shopping, including several malls, is within a short drive.

Rooms are described as large, bright, and colorful, featuring air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a tea/coffee maker, a safe, and a carpeted floor. Each room has a private bathroom with a bath, hairdryer, and free toiletries. Many rooms offer pool views. Room configurations include double rooms with one bed and quadruple rooms with two beds. While some rooms have been noted as renovated, others have shown signs of wear such as scratched or stained headboards, cracked laminate flooring, and worn fixtures. Road-facing and lower-floor rooms are more prone to noise from the freeway and overhead activity. The outdoor walkways on upper floors have a tendency to show wear. The elevator is available but has been reported as slow or unreliable. Pillows vary - some are very comfortable standard pillows, while others are decorative-size. Visitors should confirm their room type's bedding and view before booking.

The outdoor swimming pool is available year-round and is open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. It is equipped with sun loungers and sun umbrellas for guest use. There is no gym, spa, or other wellness facility on site. The pool area has a gate, but its condition and cleanliness have varied. For leisure, the central Mission Valley location provides quick access to San Diego's main attractions, including SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, the San Diego Convention Center, and Ocean Beach.

Wi-Fi is free in public areas. Free private parking is available on site but requires a reservation. The property offers a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, room service, and a vending machine for drinks and snacks. Daily housekeeping is free but not automatically provided - guests should request it at the front desk if needed. Luggage storage and laundry facilities are available. An elevator provides access to upper floors. The hotel accepts American Express, Visa, Diners Club, Discover, and MasterCard. There is no airport shuttle, no business center, and no accessible roll-in shower, although an elevator is present. A full-sized Hulk Hogan statue stands in the lobby.
