Hostel Emma occupies a historic building in a quiet residential area, yet it is within a short walk of key sights: Charles Square and the Dancing House (3 min), the National Theatre (5 min), and Charles Bridge (10 min). The Vltava River is 300 metres away. The area is well served by public transport, with the Karlovo Namesti stop providing direct metro and tram connections across Prague. Despite the central location, the street itself is quiet, reducing traffic noise. The neighbourhood is filled with restaurants, cafés, and bars within a few minutes' walk.

All rooms are private but share bathrooms and toilets on the floor. Room types include double, twin, triple, and quadruple configurations. Rooms are heated and have parquet floors, a small table, and a wardrobe. Some rooms overlook the quiet street. There is no air conditioning - during warmer months, rooms can become hot; opening windows provides ventilation but may allow noise from the street or other rooms. The property is on the 2nd or 3rd floor without a lift. Bed comfort varies, and some mattresses show wear. Pillows are hollow fibre. Towels are not included but can be rented for 1€ each. The shared bathroom facilities consist of two toilets, two showers, and two basins. Showers are lockable but share the same room, which can cause delays during peak times. Daily cleaning of common areas is provided, though room cleanliness can be inconsistent.

Hostel Emma does not offer breakfast or an on-site restaurant. However, guests have access to a shared kitchen with a hob, microwave, fridge, and basic utensils. Free tea and coffee are provided. The kitchen is compact and located next to the washbasins, which can be inconvenient during peak use. A wide variety of restaurants and cafés is within a 3-minute walk, offering traditional Czech cuisine and international options.
