HOTEL ANKORA, Prague

The hotel is well placed for exploring Prague. The National Museum and Wenceslas Square are within a 5-10 minute walk. The metro and tram (including line 22 to Prague Castle) are directly across the street, with the main railway station also easily reached. Major attractions like Charles Bridge and the Old Town are a 15-30 minute walk or a short tram ride. For those driving, the paid on-site garage is tight, but street parking is an alternative (free on weekends in some areas). The neighbourhood feels safe and well-served by supermarkets, cafés, and restaurants. Trams outside can sometimes be heard, but higher floors are quieter.

Rooms range from compact standards to larger apartments with kitchenettes and jacuzzi baths. Standard double rooms feature a shower or bathtub, hairdryer, and medical anti-allergy bedding. Deluxe rooms include a larger fridge (120 litres). Apartments add a separate living area, microwave, and more space. Room 406 and similar small layouts have the shower inside the main room without full privacy. Some rooms have sealed windows (no opening), so air conditioning is the sole ventilation - it operates on a central system with seasonal settings, which can leave rooms warm in cooler months. A desk and wardrobe are available, but electrical outlets may not be near the bed. Higher-floor rooms offer better views and less noise. Road-facing rooms can be noisier, while courtyard-facing rooms are quieter. The lift serves all floors, but can be slow during peak times.

Breakfast is served in a ground-floor dining room and includes a buffet with eggs (scrambled and boiled), cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt, pastries, fruit, cereal, and hot drinks. Selection is decent for a city hotel, though options for vegans and vegetarians are limited. The breakfast area can become crowded, and hot items are not always kept warm. The hotel has no restaurant for lunch or dinner. Several cafés, pizzerias, and international restaurants are within a 3-5 minute walk. A terrace is available but only open during breakfast hours. For self-catering, some rooms have a minibar or kitchenette, and a small supermarket is nearby.

The hotel offers a billiard table on one of the upper floors, which can be used by residents for an additional fee. The terrace provides panoramic views over Prague and is a pleasant spot for relaxation, though it is only accessible during breakfast hours and not available in the evening. There is no swimming pool, sauna, fitness centre, or wellness facilities on site. For leisure activities, the central location gives easy access to walking tours, parks, and the city's cultural attractions. The neighbourhood itself is quiet and safe for evening strolls.
