Despite its centrality, the hotel remains noticeably quiet, particularly in the evenings and in rooms away from street-facing alleys. The building's historic courtyard adds a tranquil retreat from the surrounding tourist flow. Guests arriving by plane or train are best served by taking a water bus or water taxi, as the property is in a pedestrian zone with no vehicle access and no on-site parking.

Rooms are divided between the main 16th-century building, which retains original features like exposed beams, parquet floors, and classic Venetian furniture, and an annex building (sometimes called Casa Kirsch) with a more modern, minimalist style. Most rooms are soundproofed and come with a minibar, safe, hairdryer, and flat-screen satellite TV. A limited number of rooms feature a balcony or terrace, which are highly recommended when available. Room sizes vary significantly: suites and some family rooms are spacious, while standard double and single rooms are noted as compact but well-equipped. Some annex rooms have been fully renovated, though a sub-set of annex rooms-especially those on upper floors without lift access-have been described as having dated fixtures, worn furnishings, or maintenance issues such as leaking showers and faulty air conditioning. The two buildings face each other across a canal, approximately a three-minute walk apart. To ensure a consistent historic atmosphere, booking a room in the main building is advisable. Rooms overlooking the small inner courtyard or the canal tend to be quieter; those on the breakfast corridor or facing a busy alley can pick up noise from adjacent rooms or early-morning setup. Air conditioning in some rooms is only available from spring onwards. All rooms have private bathrooms (shower or bath).

Wellness facilities are not present at this property. Leisure options focus on the on-site outdoor spaces: a small shaded courtyard with a lounge area, and a terrace where breakfast is served in summer.
