HOTEL MARCONI, Venice

Room categories range from Classic (small, best for short stays) through Superior (more spacious, better materials) to Luxury rooms, of which only two have a private balcony with a direct view of the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Luxury rooms without the canal view still feature Venetian baroque decor but lack the balcony. The Deluxe without view can accommodate extra beds for families. All rooms include air conditioning, soundproof walls, a safety deposit box and satellite TV. Some rooms have coffee and tea making facilities. Practical details: the building has no lift, and rooms are spread over four floors; porter service is available to help with luggage. Room sizes vary significantly - some are described as compact (especially Classic and some quadruple rooms), while the Superior and certain Luxury rooms are larger. The canal-view balconies (only two rooms) come with two chairs and a small table. A city map and entrance to Venice Casino are included in the room rate.

Breakfast is a continental buffet featuring hot items such as scrambled eggs and bacon, cakes, pastries, fresh bread, cold cuts, cheese, yoghurt, juices, and coffee. The breakfast room is bright and decorated in a traditional style, and there is an option to sit at tables outside right on the canal, which is especially pleasant in good weather - a great spot to watch gondolas pass by. The hotel does not operate a lunch or dinner restaurant, but the immediate surroundings are packed with trattorias and pizzerias (e.g., Trattoria alla Madonna, Ristorante Rialto, Osteria Bancogiro, all within 0.5 km). Breakfast costs 6 EUR per person and must be requested when booking. In-room breakfast can also be ordered for an additional charge.

The hotel does not have a pool, spa, gym or dedicated entertainment areas. However, its position at the Rialto Bridge means guests are steps away from the city's main sights: a 5-minute walk to St. Mark's Square and the Basilica, 15 minutes to the Accademia Gallery, and about 30 minutes on foot to the Giardini della Biennale. The surrounding area is full of shops - glass and lace at St. Mark's, international brand stores along Mercerie and Via XXII Marzo - and the Rialto Fish Market is around the corner. The hotel's outdoor tables by the canal serve drinks and snacks, making them a simple leisure option for relaxing with a view after sightseeing.

Wi-Fi is free and available in all areas and rooms. The front desk operates 24 hours and offers concierge, tour desk and currency exchange. Free luggage storage is available both before check-in and after check-out, useful for exploring the city without bags. Porter service helps with luggage up and down the stairs (no elevator). Laundry and dry cleaning are available for an extra charge. A paid airport shuttle can be arranged (pick-up and drop-off). The hotel has a safety deposit box, 24-hour security and key-card access. Pets are allowed on request at no extra charge. The property has a minimarket on site for basic supplies. Accepted payment methods include American Express, Visa, Diners Club, JCB and MasterCard.
