HOTEL ROBLE, Mexico City

Hotel Roble sits just 250 metres from Mexico City's main square, placing the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace, Templo Mayor, and Alameda Park within a few minutes' walk. The Zócalo Metro Station is also a short stroll away, and the surrounding streets are lined with restaurants, bars, and convenience stores (7-11, Oxxo). Mexico City Airport is 12 km away; the most practical option is a taxi arranged through the hotel at a fixed rate of MXN 220 per car. During rush hours the immediate area becomes congested, so allow extra time if using Uber or a taxi. The area is considered safe, with a visible police presence.

Rooms at Hotel Roble are functional and compact; some are particularly small - suitable mainly for solo travellers or short couples' stays, but tight for families or groups. Available configurations include one double bed, one king-size bed, two double beds, twin beds (2 single beds), and a family room with three beds. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower (no bathtub), a flat-screen cable TV, air conditioning, and a ceiling fan. Several rooms face a venting shaft or interior courtyard with no exterior view, while those facing the street can be noisy. No rooms have a balcony. Some rooms lack windows, which limited ventilation. The corridors are uncarpeted, so luggage and footstep noise carry easily. Daily housekeeping is provided.

Restaurante Maple offers a menu of Mexican dishes with vegetarian and dairy-free options, open Monday-Saturday 07:30-21:30 and Sunday 08:30-17:30. An American-style breakfast is available for an additional charge of MXN 170 per person, served Monday-Saturday 07:15-12:00 and Sunday 08:00-12:00; it includes coffee or tea, juice or fruit, and a choice of one dish. Service at breakfast can be slow during busy periods. For other meals, the attached restaurant is a convenient and affordable option. The immediate area has numerous other restaurants within a 5-minute walk.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and is free of charge. A 24-hour front desk provides concierge and tour desk services, plus free luggage storage that can be used before check-in and after check-out. Daily housekeeping is included. A lift serves all floors. Business facilities include a free business centre and fax/photocopying. Safety features include key card access, CCTV, smoke alarms, and a safety deposit box in each room. An airport taxi can be arranged through reception for MXN 220 per car. The hotel does not have its own parking; a public lot located 4-5 blocks away charges MXN 220 per day and requires advance notice and payment on arrival. A trouser press and a hairdryer are available from reception. English is spoken by some staff, particularly on the morning shift.
