Hotel Isabel is in the Centro Histórico, steps from the Zócalo and within a 10- to 15-minute walk of most major attractions. The area is lively and well-policed, with many restaurants, street food vendors and bakeries nearby. The Metrobus 4 line passes close by, providing direct access to the TAPO bus station and the airport via a change at San Lázaro. The hotel also offers a paid shuttle service from Benito Juárez Airport for $550 MXN per group (1-4 people). A parking spot is available one block away but not on site, so car travel requires advance planning.

Rooms are generous in size with high ceilings and a traditional historic feel. Most rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, while 10 rooms share two bathrooms per floor (one on the 3rd, one on the 4th). Selected rooms offer a balcony. Each room includes a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a sofa, a laptop safe, and parquet or tiled floors. Daily housekeeping replenishes free bottled water. There is no air conditioning; the building's high ceilings and large rooms keep temperatures moderate, and fans are available on request. Street-facing rooms can be very noisy due to nearby nightlife, so light sleepers should request a room away from the street. Bed firmness is a recurring point: the beds are on the harder side, which some find comfortable and others less so.

RESTAURANT BAR ISABEL offers Mexican cuisine in a family-friendly setting, open daily from 08:00 to 20:00. The restaurant serves breakfast (available for an additional 150 MXN), plus brunch, lunch, dinner and a cocktail hour. A snack bar is also available. Room service is provided and packed lunches can be requested. The bar has a local atmosphere and occasionally hosts karaoke nights. Kids' meals are available at an extra charge. The food is noted for its homemade flavour and good value. Bottled water is provided daily in rooms.
