HOTEL SWEET HOME, Rome

The hotel sits in a lively area immediately around Termini, with numerous restaurants, cafes, and a supermarket within a 3-minute walk. Major attractions such as the Colosseum (10-15 minutes on foot), the Roman Forum, and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore (a few steps away) are easily reachable without public transport. The Termini metro station provides direct connections to the Vatican, Spanish Steps, and all of Rome. The surrounding streets are busy and can feel gritty late at night, but the transport connectivity and central location make the hotel an efficient base for sightseeing. Free luggage storage allows you to drop bags if you arrive before check-in or after check-out.

The property offers a mix of room types, including triples, quadruples, and six-bed configurations. While many rooms are clean and comfortable with good air conditioning, some show signs of age with worn furnishings and maintenance issues such as peeling wallpaper or loose sockets. Noise from the corridor, reception desk, and street can be noticeable - particularly rooms 101 and 102 opposite the front desk - and soundproofing is limited. Street-facing rooms may also hear tram noise. Beds are generally comfortable, though some mattresses and pillows are firm. Daily housekeeping is provided, but its consistency varies. Some rooms have the bathroom located across the hall rather than en-suite, so confirm the configuration when booking if this matters.

All meals must be taken off-site. The immediate area around Termini offers a wide variety of dining options within a 3-minute walk, including Italian, Indian, and pizza restaurants, as well as a supermarket for self-catering. Breakfast can be found at nearby cafes open from early morning. The hotel does not provide cooking facilities in rooms, though some hallways have shared microwaves and kettles which are intended for staff use.

Reception is open 24 hours, allowing late check-in and early departures. Express check-in/check-out and private check-in/out are available. A concierge and tour desk can assist with bookings and currency exchange. Daily housekeeping is free but not always thorough. Luggage storage is free and convenient for early arrivals or late departures. The hotel has a lift, air conditioning, and heating. Safety features include 24-hour security and CCTV. Fax/photocopying is available for an extra charge. No parking is provided. Payment by Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, CartaSi, and UnionPay is accepted.
