JUGENDGAESTEHAUS BRIGITTENAU &BRIGITTENAU YOUTH PALACE, Vienna

Situated in the Brigittenau district, the property is 3 km from Danube Island and 3 km from Austria Center Vienna. Vienna International Airport is 19 km away. Tram line 2 stops within a 5-minute walk and provides a direct connection to the city centre in about 20 minutes. For the airport, take S-Bahn S7 to Handelskai station, then bus 11A or 5A to Leystrasse (two stops) - total journey around 40 minutes. The nearest U-Bahn station (Handelskai, line U6) is about a 15-minute walk. A supermarket and a few eateries are within walking distance, and the area is quiet for a hostel. Guests planning to visit Bratislava can reach the boat pick-up point in about 20 minutes via tram 2 to Schwedenplatz.

Private double and twin rooms include a private bathroom with shower, wardrobe, and central air-conditioning (windows are sealed and cannot be opened). Beds can be pushed together to form a double. These rooms are 20 m2 on average. Budget rooms and dorms lack air-conditioning (electric fans can be rented for €2) and may require guests to make their own beds; some have lockers for personal items. Sound insulation between rooms is limited, and noise from the hallway and neighbouring rooms is common. Pillows and mattresses have been described as basic, so light sleepers may want to bring their own pillow. Note that rooms on higher floors can become warm due to the sealed windows. Hairdryers and additional pillows are available at reception. No rooms have balconies.

The breakfast buffet is included in most rates and offers a variety of breads, cold cuts, yogurt, fruit, eggs, hot drinks, and sometimes gluten-free options. During busy periods, there can be queues and limited seating. The on-site restaurant ('Self Service') serves Austrian cuisine with vegetarian choices and special diet menus on request. Dinner is available for approximately €9.50 per person and includes appetiser, main course, salad, and dessert - a budget-friendly option. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are also located in the lobby. For those who prefer to eat out, several kebab shops and a supermarket are within a short walk, and the city centre's dining options are a quick tram ride away.
