Ikebukuro is a major transport hub, putting central Tokyo destinations within easy reach. The Sunshine City complex (2 km) houses shops, restaurants and an aquarium. Eight restaurants are within a 0.3-km walk, and convenience stores are nearby. The station is a 5-10 minute walk, and the area is lively yet feels separate from the busiest commercial zones. Street noise can reach upper-floor rooms, though the building is set back from main roads.

Room sizes are compact: 8 m2 for a double, 11 m2 for a triple. Each room includes a yukata, cotton-filled pillows and futons, a hair dryer, and a toothbrush set at the floor washbasin. Air conditioning and heating are provided. Refrigerators are available on each floor. The tatami can develop a musty smell, especially in humid weather - consider opening the window or requesting a different room if sensitive. Wall insulation is minimal; noise from neighbouring rooms and the corridor may be noticeable. Upper-floor rooms may pick up street noise. There are no balconies. An elevator serves all floors.

The Kimi Natural 73+ Café offers Australian-style coffee, pastries, and a breakfast menu (not included in the room rate). It can get busy in the morning, but the quality is well regarded. For other meals, a wide choice of restaurants, bars and eateries is within a 0.3-km radius of the property. A shared refrigerator and microwave are available for storing and heating your own food.

The ofuro (Japanese bath) is made of cypress wood and can be reserved daily between 4pm and 11pm. It is a single-user bath, so advance booking is essential - reserve at the front desk. A rooftop terrace provides open-air seating with views over the neighbourhood. Coin-operated launderettes are on site. There is no gym, spa or swimming pool.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the building. Luggage can be stored before check-in and after check-out at no charge. A coin launderette (paid) and a laundry service (additional charge) are available. The property has a shared lounge with a satellite TV, a safety deposit box, 24-hour security, CCTV and smoke alarms. Fax/photocopying is offered for a fee. No pets are allowed. Parking is unavailable, so use public transport - Ikebukuro Station is the nearest rail link.
