SUPER HOTEL PREMIER AKIHABARA, Tokyo

The hotel sits on the Kanda River, about 500 metres from Akihabara Station (JR Yamanote, Sobu, and metro Hibiya lines) and Iwamototyo subway station. Yanagimori Shrine is steps away, Akihabara Park a 2-minute walk, and Tokyo Haneda Airport is 20 km away. The neighbourhood is central to Akihabara's electronics and anime district, with convenience stores, restaurants, and cafes within a 5-minute radius. Public transport access is excellent: the Tsukuba Express line runs directly to Asakusa, and multiple train lines provide connections across Tokyo.

Rooms range from single to quadruple, all featuring a private bathroom with bath, shower, bidet, hairdryer, and slippers. Each room is air-conditioned, soundproofed, and includes a flat-screen TV with Netflix/YouTube, a work desk, an electric kettle, and a carpeted floor. The standard pillow is a long hard type; softer options are available free from the lobby pillow bar. Room sizes are typical for Tokyo - compact - but the layout minimises wasted space, allowing luggage to be opened in most configurations. Many rooms overlook the river, and the triple-glazed windows effectively block street noise. Daily housekeeping is upon request, emphasising sustainability.

The breakfast buffet offers a variety of hot and cold items, including Japanese-style dishes (miso soup, grilled fish, natto), Western options (pastries, cereals, yogurt, salads), and home-baked bread. The menu changes daily. From 6pm to 10pm the lobby lounge serves complimentary drinks: beer, wine, cocktails, soft drinks, tea, and coffee, along with light snacks. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are on-site. Within a few hundred metres there are numerous restaurants, from ramen to Italian, as well as convenience stores.

The onsen is a highlight - it includes a natural hot spring bath and a public bath, both open from 3pm until 9:30am the next morning. The long hours mean it can be used late at night or early morning when quieter. The bath is separated by gender; swimwear is not permitted. Tattoos must be covered with a patch or sleeve (not supplied by the hotel); large tattoos are not allowed. The lobby also has a terrace with views of Tokyo Skytree, and a robot dog entertains in the evenings. Laundry and vending machines are available in the common areas.

All areas have free Wi-Fi. Laundry is self-service with coin-operated washers (200 yen) and free dryers. Luggage can be stored before check-in and after check-out on the same day; forwarding via Yamato Kuroneko is also offered. Daily housekeeping is upon request; if not requested, only fresh towels and a bottle of water are left at the door. The hotel is wheelchair accessible and has facilities for disabled guests. Security features include CCTV, smoke alarms, and a keyless room entry system. The single lift can be slow during busy times. Payment is accepted with major credit cards; pets are not allowed.
