The inn is ideally placed for walkability: the beach and harbour are about 2-5 minutes on foot, Stearns Wharf is a 20-minute walk (2 km), and Santa Barbara City College is 6 minutes away. State Street's shops and restaurants are a 15-minute stroll, and the Funk Zone is about 10 minutes. The Amtrak station is an 8-minute walk. Several restaurants - Rudy's Mexican Restaurant, The Neighborhood, Sambo's, and Lilly's - are within 0.3-1 km. Free on-site parking makes it easy to keep a car, though many find they can leave it parked for the duration of their stay.

Each guest room is equipped with air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, and an alarm clock. Bed configurations include two large double beds or one king bed, with a sitting area and carpeted floors. All rooms have private bathrooms with showers (no bathtubs). Some rooms feature a separate small bedroom - ideal for families. Dedicated ADA rooms are available. While the accommodation is generally comfortable and clean, some rooms show signs of age and may have a musty smell; road-facing units can pick up street and train noise. Rooms open onto a walkway with garden seating, but there are no balconies. Extra futon pads and cots are available on request.

Breakfast is a self-serve buffet that includes toast, bagels, orange juice, and fresh coffee. The property also offers a daily afternoon happy hour with complimentary wine, cheese, crackers, and cookies - a popular amenity. Each room is stocked with a complimentary bottle of sparkling water upon arrival. The pool is open daily from 9:00 to 21:00. Guests also have access to a fitness centre and hot tub/jacuzzi at the sister property directly across the street (open 9:00-21:00). Massage services are available at an additional charge. Free bicycle rentals allow active exploration of Santa Barbara's coastline and downtown. Board games and puzzles are available for families. The garden courtyard offers comfortable seating for relaxing after a day out.

Parking is free and does not require a reservation - a significant convenience. The front desk is staffed around the clock and can assist with local recommendations. Additional services include laundry (coin-operated at the sister property across the street), dry cleaning (surcharge), and a drinks vending machine. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, key card access, and in-room safes. The property is non-smoking throughout. No elevator is available, and no pets are allowed except service animals. Ironing facilities and cots are available on request.
