The Santa Barbara Zoo and Museum of Natural History are minutes away by car, and the University of California at Santa Barbara is also nearby. The location is highly walkable: the pier, beach, and dining are all easily accessible on foot.

Units are designed as open-plan studios without a separate sleeping area. Some rooms include a balcony or a private patio - the King Spa rooms have a balcony, while one King room features a patio with ocean views. All rooms have ceiling heating and air conditioning, upgraded locks, and free Wi-Fi. Flat-screen TVs with cable are standard, and select rooms add a fireplace or in-room jacuzzi tub. Refrigerators and microwaves are available in every unit. Rooms on the first floor near the ice machine can experience more noise; upper-floor rooms may hear footsteps from the balcony above. The overall feel is older motel-chic: rooms are clean and functional, with comfortable beds, but bathroom cosmetic signs of age (e.g., rust, minor wear) are possible.
