HOTEL MACHIAVELLI PALACE, Florence

The hotel is within 5 minutes on foot from Santa Maria Novella Station, providing direct rail access across Tuscany and a tram line to Florence Airport. The Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Accademia Gallery are all within a 10-15 minute walk. The surrounding streets are lined with restaurants, trattorias, and a lively bar scene. For business travellers, Fortezza da Basso Conference Centre is a 3-minute walk away. The location is also at the edge of a ZTL zone, allowing limited car access up to the hotel for drop-offs, but parking is handled by a nearby garage. The area is pedestrian-friendly and well-connected for exploring all major sights on foot.

The hotel offers a range of room types including standard doubles, superior singles, family rooms for up to four, and a suite with a private jacuzzi on the terrace. Standard double rooms with city views cannot accommodate an extra bed. Quadruple rooms have no balcony, while some doubles and the suite include private terraces - the suite's jacuzzi is exclusive to that room category. Room sizes vary; single rooms are notably compact, while family rooms and some doubles are spacious. All rooms have air conditioning (subject to seasonal operation), a minibar stocked with complimentary water, a safe, and a smart TV. Bathrooms are private, with some containing a bathtub and others a shower. The property is older, with furnishings that reflect traditional Florentine style; some areas show wear. Light sleepers may notice noise from thin walls and from street-level bars, especially in lower-floor rooms facing Via Nazionale. A balcony is available in select room types.

Breakfast is a continental buffet with bread, pastries, cereal, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, and hot drinks. It is served in the breakfast room on the ground floor; breakfast is not served on the terrace. The rooftop bar operates seasonally (typically from April to October, weather permitting) and offers wine, beer, cocktails, and small snacks. It is closed from November through March. The hotel has no restaurant for lunch or dinner, but there are numerous restaurants within a 2- to 5-minute walk, including Osteria All'Antico Mercato, Trattoria Nerone, and Ristorante La Falterona. The Mercato Centrale is a short walk away for casual dining options.

The rooftop terrace is the primary leisure feature, providing seating and views over the Duomo and historic rooftops. It functions as a bar during opening hours and as a relaxation space with city panoramas even when the bar is closed. There is no swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi, or fitness centre on site. The hotel does not offer wellness or spa facilities. Nearby walking tours and bike tours can be arranged through reception.
