HOTEL VILLA ROSA, Venice

The hotel occupies a calm Cannaregio side street, less than 5 minutes on foot from both Santa Lucia train station and the Piazzale Roma bus terminal - a rare asset in Venice, as no bridges need crossing with luggage. The Guglie vaporetto stop is a few steps away, providing direct water-bus access to Saint Mark's Square and the Grand Canal. Shops, markets, and restaurants are on the doorstep, while the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square are within a 20-to-30-minute walk. The surrounding area is safe, lively, and well served by bars and eateries. For airport transfers: the ATVO shuttle bus from Marco Polo Airport (€8 single, €15 return) arrives at Piazzale Roma; from there, it is a 10-minute walk or a one-stop water-bus ride (€7.50). A regular taxi from the airport costs about €40, and a private water taxi around €100-€120.

The breakfast buffet includes cold cuts, cheese, bread and pastries (three kinds of croissants), hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, cereals, fresh fruit (oranges, bananas, apples, kiwis), butter, marmalade, honey, orange juice, and coffee from a capsule machine. A breakfast box can be prepared for early check-outs if requested. The breakfast room also functions as a shared lounge outside breakfast hours and can be used by guests for tea or snacks. There is no restaurant on site for lunch or dinner, but the hotel is surrounded by numerous restaurants, trattorias, and bars within a 2-3 minute walk, including Osteria al Cicheto, Trattoria alle lance, Shanghai, Trattoria Bella Venezia, and many others, all about 0.5 km away. The bar provides drinks and snacks.

Wellness facilities are limited: there is no spa, swimming pool, or fitness centre. Leisure is instead provided by the hotel's walled courtyard garden and the shared terrace, both furnished and available for relaxation. The garden is a quiet, secluded space ideal for downtime after exploring the city. The hotel's Cannaregio location places guests near parks and canal walks, and the vaporetto stop provides easy access to the entire Venetian lagoon.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas. The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, express check-in/check-out, and luggage storage (free of charge) for arrivals before check-in or departures after checkout. Daily housekeeping is provided. Pets are allowed with no extra charge, and pet bowls are available. Safety features include CCTV in common areas and outside, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and key-card access. A safety deposit box is free in every room. Business services (fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities) are available for an additional charge. Accessibility: there is no elevator; guests with mobility difficulties should request a ground-floor room. Wheelchair-accessible options include an emergency cord in the bathroom, a lower bathroom sink, raised toilet, toilet grab rails, and wider access. Accepted payment methods: Visa, Maestro, CartaSi, UnionPay, MasterCard.
