MAYFLOWER HOTEL, San Francisco

The hotel sits on a quiet street on the border of the Tenderloin, but the immediate area around Union Square feels safe and well-trafficked. Powell Street BART station is an 8-block uphill walk; the cable car stop is 3 blocks away, the #27 bus stops around the corner, and the #30 bus passes 4 blocks away, connecting to Chinatown and North Beach. Many restaurants and cafes are within a 5-minute walk, including Izakaya Ninja, Morning Fix Cafe, Sears Fine Food, and Lori's Diner. San Francisco City Hall is 1 km away, and San Francisco International Airport is 19 km from the property. A taxi to the airport costs about $60, while Uber/Lyft are typically $20-30. For Oracle Park, bus transit takes about 30 minutes ($2.50) or an Uber 15-20 minutes ($10-20). Be prepared for steep hills when walking to certain destinations.

The breakfast offers a straightforward but sufficient start to the day. Guests can prepare their own waffles, enjoy toast and cereal, and have coffee or tea. While the selection is basic, it is included in the room rate. For those seeking a heartier or more varied morning meal, several cafes and restaurants are within a short walk, such as Morning Fix Cafe and Sears Fine Food. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar for lunch or dinner, so evening meals are best found in the surrounding neighbourhood.

Live Fit gym is located 2 minutes up the street and provides a free pass for hotel visitors. 24 Hour Fitness is about a 10-minute walk away and offers day passes. The hotel also has a business centre on the second floor with free computers and printers. No pool, spa, or sauna are available.
