Gaudí's La Pedrera and Casa Batlló are reachable in 20 minutes on foot. The area buzzes with restaurants, cafés and nightlife; during the day it is busy and safe, though pickpockets operate around the square. Driving is not practical as there is no parking, but nearly all attractions are within walking distance.

The hotel offers a variety of room types: interior rooms (single, double) which are very quiet as they have no street views or windows that open onto a lightwell, and street-facing double rooms with views of Plaça Catalunya or Montjuïc. Some double rooms include a balcony overlooking the square - these are the most desirable and the only ones with a balcony.
