MODERNO, Barcelona

Liceu Metro station is 100 metres away, providing direct access to the airport via the L3 line. The Boqueria Market is a 2-minute walk, and the beach is 12 minutes on foot. Popular landmarks like Plaça Catalunya (0.5 km), Casa Batlló (1 km), and Sagrada Família (3 km) are easily reachable. The area is packed with restaurants, cafés, and shops. For airport transfers, the Aerobus stops at Plaça Catalunya, a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Taxis to the airport cost about 30-35€ and take 30-35 minutes. The hotel itself is on a quiet side street, so street noise is minimal despite the central location.

Room types include single (12 m2), twin, and triple rooms, all with simple décor. Some rooms face the street with city views, while others open onto an interior light shaft or courtyard, which may feel dark and lack natural ventilation. The air conditioning is available but may not cool effectively during peak summer heat, and some units are noisy. Beds are generally comfortable, but pillows and mattresses show wear. Soundproofing is adequate, but noise from neighbouring rooms and corridors can be heard. Daily housekeeping is provided, and towels are changed daily. The rooms are compact, especially the single rooms, so they are best suited for short stays focused on exploring the city. Wardrobes have limited hanging space, and no balcony is available except in a few rooms with a French balcony.

Breakfast can be included in the room rate or paid separately. The hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner, but Cafe Moderno, offering Mediterranean and Catalan cuisine, is located on site and serves breakfast. For other meals, the Boqueria Market is a 2-minute walk away, and countless restaurants line the surrounding streets. The hotel's own City Tour offer can help plan dining excursions. The breakfast area is clean and the buffet is sufficient for a good start to the day.

The rooftop terrace is a quiet spot to relax after a day of sightseeing, with views over the rooftops of Barcelona. The hotel can arrange paid walking tours, bike tours, and themed dinner nights. Free computers in the lobby are available for guests to plan their itinerary. The City Tour offer is a convenient way to explore the city's main attractions. There is no spa, pool, or gym on site.
