Edinburgh Airport is 10 km away, reachable by taxi or paid airport shuttle. The area around the property is a busy thoroughfare with heavy traffic and pedestrian activity day and night. Numerous restaurants, pubs, cafés and grocery stores are within a 1-2 minute walk, offering plenty of food and shopping options. While the location is ideal for walking to all major sights, the same concentration of nightlife means noise from clubs and bars on Blair Street and Cowgate can last until 3-4 am. Light sleepers should prepare accordingly.

Units come in one- and two-bedroom configurations. The two-bedroom suites sleep up to 6 people (2 double beds + 1 double sofa bed). The one-bedroom apartment sleeps 2. Kitchens include a stovetop, microwave, fridge, electric kettle, cookware, and tea/coffee-making essentials. All rooms have a smart TV with Netflix and YouTube, a work desk, ironing facilities, and heating (but no air conditioning). Rooms can become very warm, especially on upper floors and during summer; opening windows helps but brings in street noise. Sofa beds are reported to be firm and may be less comfortable for extended use. The living room of some apartments has a bright emergency exit sign that may disturb sleep. The property has carpeted or parquet floors, and the stairs to upper rooms are many and steep. Storage space in bathrooms is limited.

MONO Suites Old Town does not operate its own restaurant or breakfast service. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a stovetop, microwave, fridge, electric kettle, and basic cookware, making it easy to prepare your own meals. The area surrounding the property offers a wide choice of restaurants, including The Piemaker (0.5 km), Mother India's Cafe (0.5 km), Yocoko Noodle Bar (0.5 km), and Pilgrim Bar (0.5 km). A Sainsbury's grocery store is right below the building for supplies. No restaurant or bar is available on site.
