MOXY MUNICH OSTBAHNHOF, Munich

The hotel is within a 5- to 8-minute walk of München Ost railway station, where S-Bahn and U-Bahn lines connect to Marienplatz (2 stops) and Munich Airport (38 km away direct by S-Bahn). The city centre is also reachable by a 40- to 50-minute walk along a direct route. The Werksviertel neighbourhood is an up-and-coming area with a lively nightlife scene, start-ups, and cultural venues. The conference centre and House of Communication are located nearby. Supermarkets (REWE, Lidl, DM) and a mall are right next door or in the same building, making self-catering easy. A quiet inner courtyard and green views are available from many rooms.

Accommodation consists of compact rooms designed to maximize space, with features such as motion-activated LED guide lights, a wall-mounted grid for hanging clothes instead of a wardrobe, and carpeted floors. All rooms include air conditioning, heating, soundproofing, a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer, and a 49-inch flat-screen TV (with Chromecast capability). Some rooms have windows opening to the inner courtyard for quieter sleep. Family rooms offer a sofa bed or extra bed for children. The interior has an industrial minimalistic aesthetic with exposed concrete walls, which some find austere. The rooms are best suited for short stays of 1-2 nights.

Breakfast is served daily: Monday-Friday 06:30-10:00, weekends and public holidays 07:00-11:00. The continental buffet includes bread, pastries, cold cuts, yoghurt, fruit, coffee, and juice. Vegan options can be provided on request. The walk-in cost is €19-€21 per person, but pre-booking at check-in or during reservation reduces the price to €10 per day. The 24-hour bar also functions as the front desk and serves cocktails, beer, wine, and snacks. A grab-and-go market is open around the clock for drinks and candy. For a hot meal or more variety, several restaurants are within a 0.5 km walk, and the adjacent supermarkets offer ingredients for self-catering.

Wellness facilities are not available at this property. Instead, the focus is on the social common areas: the 24-hour bar/lounge with hand-crafted cocktails and small plates, the outdoor seating area, and the garden. Board games and puzzles are available for entertainment, and there is a shared lounge/TV area. The surrounding Werksviertel district offers nightlife, bars, and cultural events within walking distance, while winter sports and surfing are accessible in the broader Munich area.
