MPS FLORA, Amsterdam

MPS Flora is permanently docked on a canal in the heart of Amsterdam, just 12 minutes on foot from Rembrandt House and 13 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station. Schiphol Airport is 18 km away, and the Van Gogh Museum is 5 km. The area is highly walkable: NEMO Science Museum is adjacent, Artis Zoo and Dam Square are within 20 minutes. Several restaurants including Greetje and Bakers & Roasters are within 500 metres. The location is both central and quiet - the boat offers a tranquil retreat steps from the city's attractions. For airport travel, direct trains from Central Station reach Schiphol in about 15 minutes.

Rooms are private cabins aboard the moored houseboat. Both twin and double rooms include a private bathroom with shower, free toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities, a wardrobe, and carpeted floors. The double room also provides a high chair for children. Some rooms have an outdoor dining area with furniture. The rooms are noted for being clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and efficient heating. The shower offers hot water with good pressure. The boat is stable and does not move. Cabins are cosy - ideal for short stays and couples or solo travellers. Free WiFi is available throughout. A shared lounge and dining area add to the communal atmosphere.

Breakfast at MPS Flora is available for an additional charge of €22 if not included in the booking. The buffet includes fresh bread, croissants, cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, juice, and coffee from a bean-to-cup machine. Freshly squeezed orange juice is offered on request. The communal dining room creates a social breakfast experience. Throughout the day, complimentary tea and coffee are available in the lounge. There is no restaurant on board, but numerous dining options are within a short walk, from casual to traditional Dutch cuisine. An honesty bar provides drinks for a small fee.

For leisure, the houseboat features a sun terrace with outdoor furniture, a shared lounge/TV area, and a games room with board games and puzzles. The surrounding area is ideal for cycling - bicycle parking is available on site - and the canals offer sailing and boating activities. The boat's deck provides a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy the canal view. There is no pool or spa. The central location allows easy access to Amsterdam's cultural sites and entertainment on foot or by public transport.

Free WiFi is available in all areas. Luggage storage is free and can be used before check-in or after check-out. Express check-in/out and private check-in/out are offered. A tour desk can assist with activity arrangements. The shared lounge includes a coffee house feel with complimentary hot drinks all day.
