CAFE MODERN, Amsterdam

The hotel is located in the Amsterdam Noord district, a 10-minute walk from the free 24-hour ferry that crosses the IJ river and lands at Amsterdam Central Station. This makes the city centre, Dam Square (2 km), and the Royal Palace (2 km) easily reachable. Schiphol Airport is 13 km away, accessible via train from Central Station. The immediate neighbourhood is quiet and offers several cafés, restaurants, and a supermarket within walking distance, while the A'DAM Toren is just 4 minutes away on foot.

Rooms are large, bright, and individually decorated with vintage furniture and quirky art, set in a former bank building. Each room includes a private bathroom (with either a shower or a bath and separate shower), a desk, a wardrobe, and a tea/coffee maker. Some rooms have a seating area with a dining table. Some rooms also offer an inner courtyard view. The shared kitchen is fully equipped with a stovetop, oven, refrigerator, kitchenware, and basic cooking essentials such as olive oil and spices, plus a dining area. Note that rooms are on upper floors and accessed only by stairs.

Cafe Modern is open daily except Tuesdays. The restaurant offers a vegetarian and vegan menu for lunch and dinner, with a stylish retro interior. It also serves wine and champagne. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, so plan dining options accordingly. No breakfast is provided at the hotel, but several cafés and bakeries are located within a short walk - Café Keppler, Bokas Cafe, and an ice cream parlour are just across the street or nearby.

Cafe Modern does not have a swimming pool, spa, gym, or sauna. The quiet neighbourhood and free ferry access make it easy to explore Amsterdam's cultural sites, such as the A'DAM Toren and the museums in the city centre. Board games and puzzles are available for in-room entertainment. The area also has a park suitable for walks.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The shared kitchen is equipped with a stovetop, oven, refrigerator, and kitchenware. A private check-in/out service is offered. Luggage can be stored in the restaurant after check-out on days it is open, but not on Tuesdays.
