Hotel Details

Location

Steps from Pike Place Market and the Seattle waterfront, with a 5-minute walk to Westlake Center and easy rail access to the airport.
The hotel sits at the corner of Pine and 1st, directly across from Pike Place Market. Westlake Station (light rail to Sea-Tac Airport, monorail to Seattle Center) is a 2-minute walk. Seattle Aquarium is 6 minutes on foot, the Great Wheel is 0.5 km away, and the Space Needle is a 19-minute walk. The waterfront and ferry terminal are a 5-10 minute walk. The area is energetic with many restaurants, cafes, and shops within a block, though some nearby streets can feel less safe late at night. The hotel provides a security guard and locks the entrance door after 9:00 PM. Easy access to the cruise pier (Uber or taxi recommended).

Accommodation

Compact, stylishly designed rooms with a vintage boutique feel, each featuring a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, and air conditioning.
Rooms are on the smaller side, especially standard king and queen rooms, with limited surface space for luggage and toiletries. The sink is often located outside the main bathroom area. Rooms come with a Smeg mini-fridge stocked with paid items, a safe, and a Nespresso machine. Deluxe King or Deluxe Queen rooms offer slightly more space and better views (market/waterfront). Courtyard rooms face an interior wall or other rooms and can feel dark. Road-facing rooms on lower floors receive significant street noise; earplugs are provided. Single-pane windows are common and open only a few inches. Lighting is dimmable but often described as dark and impractical for makeup. The bathroom has a rainfall shower (some with a tub), and toiletries are from Diptyque. The bed is comfortable, but some have reported lumpy mattresses in certain rooms. The overall vibe is moody, retro, and design-focused.

Dining

Hart and the Hunter serves American cuisine on-site for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a cozy, stylish setting.
The hotel's restaurant and bar offers a breakfast menu, lunch, and dinner (limited hours - closed for dinner Sunday and Monday). Meals are also available via room service during restaurant hours. The menu features American classics; the biscuits and French toast are highlights. Breakfast is not included in the room rate. A welcome drink voucher (one per room) is provided. The restaurant can be closed or limited on certain days, so check in advance for dinner plans. There are dozens of restaurants and cafes within a 2-block walk, including Le Panier and Biscuit Bitch.

Wellness and Leisure

No on-site pool, spa, or fitness center, but the hotel offers a lively bar, a cozy lounge area with a fireplace, and free bicycle rental.
Leisure options are limited to the in-house bar and a small library/lounge area. Free bicycle rental is available for exploring the city. The Seattle waterfront, Pike Place Market, and downtown attractions are all within walking distance, making the hotel itself a base for city exploration rather than a destination for on-site wellness.

Facilities and Services

24-hour front desk with express check-in/out, luggage storage, daily housekeeping (by request), and free Wi-Fi.
The hotel provides free Wi-Fi (speed and reliability vary), a 24-hour reception, concierge, and luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures. An elevator serves all floors. Pets are allowed with a US$125 fee (pets cannot be left alone in the room). Accessibility features include wheelchair-accessible rooms, visual aids (Braille, tactile signs), emergency cord, lowered sink, raised toilet, and grab rails. Business facilities (fax/photocopying, meeting rooms) are available for an additional charge. Laundry and dry cleaning are also offered for a fee. Parking is not on-site: the hotel has a partnership with a 24-hour garage (3rd & Stewart) two blocks away for US$33 per night with in-and-out privileges, or valet parking for US$55 per night (7 AM-11 PM).

Critical Operational Notes

  • A US$100 per night incidental hold is placed on your card at check-in.
  • Daily housekeeping must be requested; it is not automatic.
  • The hotel has no complimentary bottled water or coffee in the lobby.
  • The in-room mini-fridge is stocked with paid items and does not have free space for personal use.
  • The elevator is not secured with a key card, allowing anyone from the lobby to access guest floors.

Top Strategic Tips

  • 01

Request a room away from the street and upper floors if noise affects your sleep, as single-pane windows provide minimal soundproofing.

  • 02

Book a Deluxe King or Deluxe Queen room for a better chance of a view and extra space.

  • 03

Plan to use the nearby paid parking garage (US$33/night, 2 blocks away) or valet (US$55/night), as the hotel has no on-site parking.

  • 04

Factor in that the hotel restaurant and bar have limited hours and are closed for dinner on Sundays and Mondays.
