HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS & SUITES SEATTLE DOWNTOWN - LAKE UNION BY IHG, Seattle

The hotel is situated in a neighborhood that feels quiet and residential yet is close to key destinations. Walking to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, and Climate Pledge Arena takes about 10 minutes. Pike Place Market and the waterfront are roughly a 20-25-minute walk, while downtown shops and dining are also within walking distance. For those arriving by light rail from the airport, Westlake Station is a 15-minute walk away. The connected parking garage is secure and avoids city street parking, though the alley entrance can be tricky to find. The area has a mix of offices and apartments, and while some restaurants and coffee shops are nearby, the streets can feel quiet at night.

Guestrooms include a work desk with an ergonomic chair, ironing facilities, air conditioning, and heating. Bed type preference is confirmed on arrival based on availability, so it cannot be guaranteed in advance. Rooms vary in upkeep; some have been recently refurbished and feel fresh, while others show signs of age such as cracked tiles, worn furniture, and older carpet. Street-facing rooms on lower floors (Dexter Avenue side) can be noticeably noisy at night, so travelers sensitive to sound should request a quieter, back-facing room. Some rooms have a sink outside the bathroom to help multiple people get ready at the same time.

Toast to Toast is the only dining option directly associated with the hotel, serving breakfast and dinner with American cuisine. Its opening hours are limited (breakfast 6:30-10 AM on weekdays, 7-11 AM on weekends), and dinner service closes relatively early. The restaurant can get busy, and service timing has been noted as slow. The hotel does not have its own bar, snack shop, or coffee station in the lobby. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are located on guest floors. For more variety, several casual dining spots, including Seattle Diner and Eltana Wood Fired Bagels, are within a 5-minute walk.

The hotel provides free wireless internet throughout, though wired internet is charged separately. Guests can store luggage at the front desk before check-in or after check-out at no cost. A business centre with printing, photocopying, and office supplies is free to use. Laundry facilities are on-site for guest use (self-service, additional charge). The front desk operates 24/7 and can provide restaurant recommendations and printouts. A paid shuttle service (third-party) connects to the cruise terminal (Pier 66 and Pier 91) at $10-$12 per person and to the airport at $65 for up to 3 people. The hotel is ADA-accessible, with wheelchair-accessible rooms, roll-in showers, visual and auditory safety alarms, and braille signage. Key card access is used for room and elevator security. Discounts for AAA and AARP members are available if applied at booking.
