QUALITY INN MERCHANTS DRIVE, Knoxville

The hotel sits near the I-75 corridor, placing it 8 km from the Knoxville Convention Center, Market Square, and the East Tennessee History Center, with the University of Tennessee Neyland Stadium also within easy reach. McGhee Tyson Airport is 26 km away. Numerous chain restaurants-including Waffle House, El Chico, Starbucks, and Applebee's-are within 0.5 km, making meal stops simple. The immediate area has a mix of commercial and roadside development; walkability is limited beyond neighboring food outlets, and guests primarily rely on a car to access downtown or the nearby Knoxville Zoological Gardens. The location is practical for transit or short stays, with easy highway access.

The property offers double rooms, each with a single queen or double bed, cable TV, and a desk. While rooms include basic comforts such as air conditioning, ironing facilities, and a private bathroom, the overall condition of furnishings and finishes varies and is often reported as worn, with dated decor, stained bedding, and damaged surfaces. Rooms may feel compact, and soundproofing is limited, with noise from neighboring rooms or external activity possible. Given the varying maintenance levels, guests are advised to check room condition upon arrival and request an alternative if the assigned room does not meet expectations.

The complimentary breakfast includes cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, a waffle maker, and coffee. Hot items such as eggs or sausages are not consistently present, and the selection can be sparse, with limited bread and waffle mix. For a more substantial morning meal, Waffle House (0.5 km) and IHOP (1 km) are nearby. Lunch and dinner options within 0.5 km include El Chico, Applebee's, and Starbucks, while Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and Subway are within 2 km. The breakfast area itself has been noted for maintenance issues.

The outdoor swimming pool is available seasonally; during the off-season the water can appear stagnant if not covered or drained. The surrounding area offers few recreation facilities within walking distance, though the Knoxville Zoological Gardens and University of Tennessee sporting events are a short drive away.
