A trolley bus stop is right outside; TheBus stops are 2 blocks away, making it easy to reach Pearl Harbor or the airport without a car. Restaurants, ABC Stores, and shops are within a 5-minute walk. Free street parking is available overnight near Kapi'olani Park, but cars must be moved by 10:00 AM or meter-fed. The neighborhood is walkable and busy, though some side-street noise from alleyways and nearby hostels can carry into rooms, especially on lower floors.

Room sizes vary: Ocean View King rooms with balcony are spacious, while standard city-view rooms can feel small for two people. All rooms have air conditioning, a seating area, mini-fridge, and an Illy espresso machine, but not all have a balcony-only Ocean View King and Partial Ocean View rooms (with full beds) do. Some rooms feature views of Waikiki Beach from the top 5 floors; others look onto alleyways or concrete walls. The bathrooms include a shower/tub combination with a shower curtain; water pressure is light. Noise can be an issue in rooms facing the street or alley, especially on lower floors. The mattress may shift on its frame in some rooms, and outlets near the bed are limited. Carpeting and furniture show wear in some areas. Upgrade to a higher floor or ocean view to avoid most noise and get better air circulation.

The hotel does not serve breakfast. Lobby coffee is free from 6:00-10:00 daily, and the lobby cafe (Recess Cafe & Bar) offers pastries for purchase along with grab-and-go items like matcha drinks and musubi. Each room is equipped with an Illy espresso machine.
