The Imperial Hawaii Resort is situated on Lewers Street, one block from the ocean and a short walk to royal Hawaiian center, DFS, and the International Market Place. The immediate area is packed with restaurants, bars, and shops, including an ABC Store directly at the front entrance. Beach access is via a quick walk through the Sheraton Waikiki walkway. The bus stop for routes to Pearl Harbor and other island destinations is one block away. The Waikiki Beach Walk area hosts live music and weekly events, including Friday night fireworks visible from higher floors. For airport transfers, use Fly Shuttle, a taxi, or a rideshare app; the public bus route #20 or #32 also serves HNL.

The resort offers five suite types: Ohia Studio (double Murphy pull-down bed + queen sofa bed, 33 m²), Banyan (queen bed + queen sofa bed + bathroom, mini-kitchen with no stove), Palm (queen bed + double Murphy + queen sofa bed, two bathrooms, full kitchen), Koa (king or two queen beds + queen sofa bed, two bathrooms, full kitchen), and Hala (two bedrooms with queen beds + queen sofa bed, two bathrooms, full kitchen). All rooms have air conditioning, flat-screen smart TVs, free Wi-Fi, in-room safe, iron/board, hairdryer, and private lanai. Some units feel cramped when the Murphy bed and sofa bed are deployed, leaving as little as 30 cm of walkway. Bathrooms are described as extremely small, comparable to RV-sized dimensions, with limited counter space. The Murphy bed design has a protruding triangular base that can cause toe injuries. Bed comfort varies: some find the queen beds adequate, others find the sofa beds and Murphy beds lumpy and uncomfortable. Deluxe rooms feature slightly more modern furnishings. Rooms on lower floors can smell musty or of sewage, and noise from neighboring AC units and the elevator is noticeable. Requesting a high floor helps secure a partial ocean view; otherwise, the view may be of an adjacent hotel or a cement wall.

Denny's is located on the ground floor and is open daily 00:00-23:30, offering a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The ABC Store at the hotel entrance stocks fresh fruit, packaged foods, drinks, souvenirs, and toiletries. The kitchenettes and full kitchens in the suites make self-catering convenient-guests can prepare meals using provided cookware. There is no meal plan or complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel. The surrounding Waikiki Beach Walk area contains dozens of additional restaurants, cafes, and food trucks within a one-block radius.

The swimming pool is a saltwater pool on the 27th floor, open daily 8am-10pm with sun loungers and towels provided. It has a shallow end and is heated year-round. Two hot tubs and a sauna are located on the third floor, open 5am-10pm. The fitness center on the third floor is open 5am-10pm and contains basic cardio and weight equipment. The resort also offers an on-site surf school (Ty Gurney Surf School) in the building. Complimentary cultural activities include ukulele lessons, hula dancing, lei making, and live music by local artists. Weekly Friday night fireworks are visible from the pool deck and higher-floor lanais. Board games and puzzles are available for families. There is a beach service operated by a partner on Fort DeRussy Beach with green umbrellas; beach equipment rentals (chair, umbrella) can be arranged at the front desk.

The front desk is staffed 24 hours; guests can arrange wake-up calls, golf club rentals, and tennis racket rentals. The business center in the lobby has an ATM. Luggage storage is complimentary-bags can be left in a secure area before check-in or after checkout. A coin-operated laundry room on the second floor costs $3.25 per wash and $2.75 per dry. Rollaway beds and cribs are available for rent. Elevators serve all floors, including the parking garage. Wheelchair accessible rooms with roll-in showers are available in Banyan, Palm, and Hala suites. Housekeeping is not automatic; requests must be made at the front desk. Trash removal is done on specific days. The hotel is a non-smoking property; a designated outdoor smoking area exists at the rear of the building.
