RHO HOTEL, Amsterdam

The hotel sits on the edge of Dam Square, placing you at the heart of Amsterdam's main attractions. Anne Frank House and Rembrandt House Museum are both within a 10-minute walk. The Dam Square tram stop is 160 metres away, giving direct access to the city's tram and metro network. Kalverstraat, the main shopping street, is also 160 metres from the entrance. Central Station is 950 metres on foot - about 10 minutes - or one metro stop from Rokin. Numerous restaurants, bars, and cafés are within 300 metres. The location is best for walking: most museums, the Red Light District, and canal cruises are reachable without public transport.

All rooms feature a private bathroom (bath or shower), flat-screen TV with cable channels, refrigerator, hairdryer, safe deposit box, and free toiletries. Room types include twin/double, triple, and options with larger beds. Many rooms are spacious by Amsterdam standards, with comfortable beds and daily towel changes. However, the décor and furnishings are dated - some rooms feel basic, with worn carpet, dark lighting, and older fixtures. Road-facing rooms can be noisy due to single-glazed windows; earplugs are provided. Interior-facing or higher-floor rooms are quieter. There is no air conditioning in most rooms; a small fan is provided. Windows are single-glazed, so temperature control is limited. The lift serves all floors, but some areas require short stairs. Extra charges apply for baby cots (€7.50), and room cleaning is daily.

There is no spa, wellness centre, swimming pool, or fitness facility on site. Guests seeking leisure activities can explore the city on foot - the location places you within walking distance of canal cruises, museums, and central parks.

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi in all areas. Reception is open 24 hours, with concierge, tour desk, and express check-in/out available. Luggage storage and lockers are free. Daily housekeeping is included, while dry cleaning is available for an extra charge. On-site private parking costs €50 per night and must be reserved in advance - a parking garage with valet service is available. The building has a lift to all floors, but some internal stairs are present. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, smoke alarms, and safety deposit boxes in rooms. Family rooms are available, and a baby cot can be added for €7.50 per stay. No pets are allowed. The nearest airport (AMS) is 15-20 minutes by train from Central Station or taxi.
