HOTEL RIO, Milan

The Duomo Metro Station (red line M1 and yellow line M3) is a one-minute walk, offering direct links to Expo 2015 and Milano Centrale (5 stops on the yellow line). A tram stop is right outside the hotel. The location scores 9.7 for centrality. Sforzesco Castle, luxury boutiques, and dozens of restaurants are within a short stroll. Street noise from trams can be noticeable, especially on lower floors facing the street. For car users, no parking is available on site; paid garages (e.g., Garage Diaz, €25-30/day) are 100-200 m away. Bus 73 from Linate Airport stops at Duomo, and Malpensa is accessible via train to Centrale plus metro.

The breakfast room is small and can become crowded, particularly during peak hours. The selection is basic but adequate: scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, croissants, cake, yoghurt, and fresh fruit. Coffee (espresso, cappuccino) is freshly prepared. For early departures, the staff may arrange a takeaway breakfast if requested the night before. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but a bar and coffee shop are on site. Numerous restaurants, pizzerias, and cafés are within a two-minute walk for lunch and dinner options.
