RYOGOKU VIEW HOTEL, Tokyo

The hotel sits opposite the station entrance, making it ideal for travellers arriving by JR or Toei-Oedo subway. Akihabara is a 4-minute train ride away; JR Ueno Station around 17 minutes. Tokyo Dome is reachable within 14 minutes via Suidobashi. For sumo fans, the Kokugikan is a 3-minute walk, and the Edo-Tokyo Museum is 6 minutes away. The immediate neighbourhood is packed with restaurants, convenience stores (FamilyMart, 7-Eleven), a McDonald's, a bakery, and a pharmacy. Ryogoku is a quieter district compared to central Shinjuku or Shibuya, offering a more local feel while still being well connected. Trains run frequently, but road-facing rooms on lower floors may pick up some resonance from passing trains.

All rooms feature a private bathroom with a bathtub, shower, bidet, hairdryer, and slippers. The rooms are carpeted and described as warmly decorated. Standard single, twin, triple, quadruple, family, and suite configurations exist. The family room and suite offer tatami flooring and can sleep up to 5-6 people with futons. Beds are consistently described as comfortable. The room size is typical for Tokyo budget hotels - single and twin rooms can be tight for large luggage. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure good daylight, and the balcony is usable for opening. The air conditioning is centrally controlled, limiting individual temperature override. Some older rooms may show wear in carpeting or bathroom grouting. A trouser press is available. Rooms on upper floors are quieter than those facing the street.

The hotel does not offer a swimming pool, spa, or fitness centre. For recreation, the immediate area provides opportunities for sumo-related tourism (Kokugikan arena), plus the Edo-Tokyo Museum and Ryogoku Park along the Sumida River. The neighbourhood is walkable and bike-friendly. Guests seeking active leisure will need to head to other districts. The nearby river path is suitable for a morning jog.

WiFi is free in all rooms. The 24-hour front desk facilitates late arrivals, and key-card entry means guests are not required to leave keys at reception. Daily housekeeping is standard and includes towel changes and replenishment of toiletries (toothbrushes, shaving kits, slippers, tea). Luggage storage is free both before check-in and after check-out, with a safe luggage room available. A trouser press and a limited number of irons and heaters are available for loan from reception. Meeting/banquet facilities are offered for an additional fee. The hotel has a microwave available in the lobby and a vending machine on site. Pet dogs and cats are not permitted. The hotel accepts cash and major credit cards (Amex, Visa, Diners Club, JCB, UC, MasterCard).
